Preparations for the Stonehaven Folk Festival are stepping up with some world wide appeal for the popular music event.

Ticket sales are going well with tickets sold as far afield as America, Canada, Germany, Norway, Denmark and Orkney – as well as many more closer to home.

Headliners The Treacherous Orchestra and Le Vent Du Nord are attracting a lot of attention as well as the new Radio 2 Folk Band of the Year, the Young’uns.

Festival organiser Meg Findlay said “We are busy finalising the many workshops, sessions and fringe events for the Festival weekend. It is very exciting to pull everything together and to be able to make the whole event more than just a series of concerts in the Town Hall”.

To help make this all work, the Festival is looking for volunteers to help over the weekend (9-12 July 2015). Volunteering can include stewarding one of the concerts or workshops, helping set up the Hall and concert venues or just shaking a bucket.

Volunteers are a key part of the Festival and over the weekend as many as 90 different people are involved. If you are interested in helping, please email Louise at friends@stonehavenfolkfestival.co.uk and she will get in touch with you with more information.
