the local branch of BNI (Business Network International) Nexus has launched a new award for 2011, – the Nexus Young Achiever Award (NYAA).

The NYAA 2011 is now open and all young people aged between 16-25 in Angus and the Mearns are eligible to be nominated if they have demonstrated excellence in any way.

There are various criteria, including Volunteer, Employee, Carer, Hero and Courage.

Family, friends, employers and all members of the public are invited to participate. If you know someone who would be eligible, please submit your nomination before the closing date of October 31.

So many young people deserve to be recognised for many different reasons. For example, perhaps they have gone the extra mile in their workplace, given up their time to volunteer, cared for a relative, shown courage in the face of adversity, or have demonstrated an act of heroism – in fact, whatever these young people have done, or are doing, if they deserve to be recognised for their achievements, they deserve to be nominated for this £1,000 award.

For further information and nomination forms, please email Kirsten Tomlinson at kirsten.walker@virgin.net or contact Kirsten on 01674 677270/07749 827812.
