The North-East hosted the prestigious Chess Scotland Scottish Girls Championship on Saturday February 22 at Brotherton Castle, home of Lathallan School.
A tournament spokesperson said: “Heartiest congratulations to the new Scottish Champions Monica, Yvonne and Kelly.
“Thanks to all who participated and for the various helpers. Special thanks to internationalists Joy Durno and Ali Roy who provided both coaching and encouragement to the girls throughout the day.
“Thanks also to Lathallan School for their generous access to their facilities and providing the free coffee, tea and home-bakes and to the 2 individual donors (who wish to remain anonymous) for their financial support of this event.”
