AC MILL INN completed the double over League Champions Cove Thistle in a hard fought game in terrible conditions.
AC's first chance came in six minutes when Cove's defence stood arguing about a handball decision and let Michael ADAMS fire in a shot from twenty yards that scraped past the post.
A minute later AC's Allan's header hit the top of the bar and went
out of play. Cove won a corner in 15 minutes and when keeper Lawson punched the ball out it fell to Cove's Dunn whose drive flew over the bar. The play flowed from end to end with both teams making chances and the score remained 0-0 at half time.
From the restart AC took charge and within a minute Cove keeper Hopkins made a diving save from AC's Dunn. In 51minutes AC's Allan made a solo run through the middle, his shot was blocked by keeper Hopkin's legs and rebounded to Martin CARMICHAEL, who opened the scoring for his team 1-0.
Cove had keeper Hopkins to thank for keeping AC's strikers at bay making save after save frustrating AC's strike force.
Cove were awarded a penalty when Smart tripped Booth in the box and Paul GILL converted from the spot 1-1. Deep into added time AC's pressure paid off when CARMICHAEL got his second and the winner for AC making the final score 2-1
