T-SHIRTS were the order of the day on the best Saturday weatherwise of the season so far this year.
Scoring was excellent considering all greens had just been top dressed the day before.
A total of 25 players beat or equalled the day's CSS of 65.
Pride of place goes to Bruce Ferguson whose score of 65 was comfortably the best scratch score and
his nett score of 61 also won the Division 1 section.
In Division 2 there was a tie by Martin McCoy and Hendry Davidson for first place with a nett 61. Martin won on countback.
In Division 3 nett 63 was the best score with Stewart Henderson beating John Moderate on countback.
In conjunction with the Innes Medal, the J M Low qualifier also took place.
This consisted of the best 32 best nett scores going into a stroke matchplay format.
Qualifying score was nett 66 and better - regretably Allan Officer, Stuart Soutar and Bert Droy all missed out on countback.

Local companies are reminded to enter teams of four for our corporate day on May 30 to raise funds for the town's famous open-air swimming pool.
The competition will be over 18 holes with the best two nett scores at each hole counting.
The cost will be £100 a team and that will include a meal for four. Companies can enter by emailing the club at stonehavengc@btconnect.com or by telephoning the club manager, Willie Donald on 01569 762124. Donations of prizes for nearest the hole, longest drives etc would also be welcome.

***
The club manager is now taking names for our first junior open in a number of years on Sunday June 22.
This event has been kindly sponsored by Freeland Freight Services Ltd and a big entry is hoped for.
This is one of the counting events towards a new Paul Lawrie North East Order of Merit.
