IT was back to normal league matches this week for Stonehaven Tennis Club, following the completion of the North East confined tournament.
Stonehaven Men's B Team lost only their second match of the season with a score of 3 sets to 6 sets against the strong going Westhill B Team at Westhill. Daniel Colvin and Jim Acton won their doubles match by 2 sets to 1 but only Jim managed to win h
is singles match with Dale Harris and Graeme Adamson putting up a good fight before losing all their sets.
In the same division the Stonehaven Men's C Team made the long journey to Longside but suffered a 1-7 set loss on the blaes courts. Only Michael Douglas recorded a fine win in his singles match playing at No 2 for the club. He paired up with Matthew Bryce in the doubles but found the Longside couple too strong as did Phil Roscoe and Ken Melville against the experienced blaes specialists J Noble and A Thomson.
The C team will now be battling for survival in this division and if they succeed it will be an achievement on its own.
