Aberdeenshire Sports Council awards

Aberdeenshire Sports Council held their Sports Awards evening in Garioch Sports Centre, Inverurie on Friday. Over 150 people attended.

The evening was a way of rewarding and acknowledging local sports people in Aberdeenshire for their commitment to and/or achievement in sport during 2011 (or in the case of the Service to Sport category over many years). Over 60 nominations were received for this year’s awards. All nominees received a certificate to recognize their contribution to sport.

In the Olympic Year is a great opportunity for clubs and other organisations to recognise the sports talent in their midst, to give local sports people and volunteers the acknowledgement they deserve, and also to show the wealth of sporting talent which is evident in the area.
