motorcycle racer Ashley Robson has won the Kockhill Novice Trophy for her outstanding performances during the 2012 season.

Ashley (14), lives in Johnshaven and attends Mearns Academy. She is one of the very few female road racers in Scotland.

Ashley has been racing her Aprilia RS 125 around Knockhill and East Fortune for two years and has won an array of trophies and prizes, but most recently Ashley was awarded the Knockhill Novice Trophy for 2012 for her outstanding performance over the 2012 season. With the previous winners now racing in Moto GP, European and British Championships this is an award to be very proud of!

Ashley is renowned for her persistence no matter what is thrown at her on the track and can be found in the thick of the raced giving the boys a run for their money and with this she has earned respect from her fellow racers on and off the track.

Ashley is looking forward to the 2013 season. She is hoping to race not only in Scotland but with the help of more sponsorship she hopes to be racing alongside the best in young British road racing talent in the Aprilia Superteens Challenge held on tracks such as Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Cadwell.

Ashley says “I know the Superteen Challenge is going to be hard work but I always put in 100% ever time I’m on my bike and I will be putting in more for the 2013 season. This is the next step in my racing career on the way to the ultimate challenge which is to race at the world famous Isle of Man TT where I not only want to be the fastest female, but the fastest rider around the mountain.”

Ashley is already in training for next season, spending her spare time in the gym and out on her motorcross bike for the challenge that lies ahead.

Ashley would not have been able to race in the 2012 season if were not for her sponsors “Phill G Services” an electrical company based in Aberdeen, “Tracy Allan wedding hair specialist” based in Aberdeen and “George Street Barbers” in Montrose. Ashley would like to say a huge thank you to them all for their on going support.
