Bervie were forced into an early change with S. Smith being forced off with an ankle injury, Bland replaced him.
The breakthrough came when Blacklaw played in the on rushing Avis. Avis was halted temporarily by the keeper but got up quicker and stroked the ball home.
A minute from half-time Karpinksi drove goalward only to be crudely brought down. Blacklaw stepped up and drove the penalty home to give Bervie a two goal lead at the break.
Despite a two goal lead Bervie were sent back out under instructions to start quickly and close the game out with a third goal and they did just that. After some nice play on the left A. Smith played Blacklaw in and his prodded near post effort was fumbled wide by the keeper. Bervie kept up the pressure and McLaughlin drove down the right and his near post cross was met by Anderson to volley home the third.
Bervie hit on the break and McLaughlin drove into the box and then thumped a low shot across the keeper to extend the lead to four.
With the heat taking its toll Bervie freshened things up with Dawson and Wood coming on to replace Avis and Wotherspoon.
Thomson was introduced for McLaughlin and it was the substitute who went close heading over from a corner.
Bervie got their fifth shortly after when Wood cut in on his favoured left foot and hit a lovely curling effort which was destined for the bottom corner. The keeper somehow kept it out and Anderson picked up the rebound dummied with his left and slotted home with his right.
Morris replaced Anderson at this point and it was the substitute who was next to try his luck, Dawson played him in and his effort only just went over.
The Man of the match award went to David Blacklaw who showed a great work ethic throughout, epitomised near the end when he had pushed forward and the ball broke up the pitch into midfield and he ran back 30 yards to make a challenge and win the ball back.
