the Colin McRae Forest Stages Rally took place last weekend and the Stonehaven rally crew of brothers Andrew and Gordon Ritchie raced in the event.
It was a wet event which was going well for the brothers, and with them sitting in tenth position they were handling the wet, windy anfd foggy conditions well.
But then the day almost ended in disaster.
They lost one of their wheels during the race which meant they could not finish, fortunately no-one was hurt.
Andrew said: “On a day like this you have to forget all the distractions like the rain and the fog and the organisers failings and just focus on the job and keep trying. Looking at the results against our competition we could have been well placed at the end… but that’s rallying, you still need to reach the finish.”
