Luthermuir WFC travelled to Turriff hoping to continue with the form which saw them score four against Forfar the weekend before.

Luthermuir were first to attack straight from the kick off where Brough played the ball over the back line for Lownie to race in on goal, but her shot was well saved by the keeper.

Within two minutes, another great chance came when Hendry played the ball in behind the back line for Coutts to take a touch and fire a shot at goal but the keeper saved well.

Luthermuir made the break through after four minutes when Hendry won the ball in midfield and played it low behind the back line. It was collected by Lownie who coolly rounded the keeper and fired home for 1-0.

Luthermuir then had further chances to go ahead in the game but Lownie, Brough and Coutts all fired wide. Turriff were slow to get going but they started to come into the game and created a few chances of their own, but Charles handled well in goals.

A ball down the left from Godsall was collected by Coutts and she cut inside her defender before firing a shot which the keeper held well. The game became even for the next 10 minutes with neither side creating much chances.

Turriff eventually got back on level terms when a ball over the back line was missed by Middleton and Gray collected and fired it low past Charles for 1-1. Within a few minutes, Brough had to be replaced by Nicol after picking up a hip knock with a change to the formation.

Turriff had a free-kick 25 yards out minutes and the shot was held well by Charles. A foul on Lownie was fired into the box from Hendry where the keeper pushed it out and Coutts reacted first but fired her shot wide.

Just before half time, Turriff went into the lead when a near similar pass from the midfield released Gray who fired it home just inside the box for 2-1.

Luthermuir didn’t end the half with much control of the ball and wanted to gain more of the play hoping to get back level as the next goal could be crucial.

Turriff created a great chance from a corner on 50 minutes where Godsall cleared off the line. Coutts was fouled just outside the box and Walker fired a shot that just hit the side netting.

Luthermuir levelled after 52 minutes when good work on the edge of the box by Coutts and Boyack created space for Calder who rifled a shot which the keeper could not hold and it went over the line for 2-2.

Luthermuir had their tails up now and were pushing Turriff back into their own half looking for the next goal but the home keeper made some good saves to keep the score line even.

Luthermuir had a corner after 60 minutes and Murison fired it high into the six yard box where Boyack rose above everyone before heading it into the net for 3-2. Luthermuir then had a great chance to extend their lead on 66 minutes when Hendry played the ball in behind the back line where Lownie raced in on goal but her shot was straight at the keeper.

The game started to change with the home team pressing but the Luthermuir defence were holding out and Charles saving well in goal when they did break through.

After 77 minutes, a freekick 20 yards out down the right was fired over the wall by Gray and straight in the top corner for her hat trick and level the game at 3-3.

Coutts came off for Crichton to join the field and the game. The game did not create much chance after that and it was a draw for both teams.

Luthermuir are home this weekend to Elgin City in the League.
