Last Saturday, August 14 was the British Open Quoits Championship. This year it was played at Llanarthne in Wales and several Dunnottar players travelled to compete in this event.
The competition was won by Emyr Edwards, who became British Champion for the fifth time, beating Eirig Jones 21-19 in a close final. Dunnottar’s best performer was Andrew Eddie who lost to Rhys Thomas in the quarter final 21-14 after beating 2 Welsh players in previous rounds. Last year’s winner Brian Eddie lost to Nigel James 15-14 in a very close match. Nigel and Brian were last year’s finalists in Stonehaven and Nigel won by one shot at the final end.
