Bervie Caley booked their place in the next round of the Matrix Cup on Sunday in dry but very windy conditions at Broomfield Montrose, i
Bervie pushed from start to finish and took the lead when a move down the left was finished off by Jordon Greig with a low shot inside six yards.
@Bar FC equalised with a penalty after a challenge by Mark Beedie. Bervie regained the lead when Alexander and Greig combined to set up Stwart Beedie who smashed the ball past the keeper.
After half time the game was being spoiled by the high wind. Bervie replaced Thomas with Steven and they went 3-1 up when Strachan’s shot was well saved by the keeper but Garry Kleszyk headed in from the resulting corner.
An injured Strachan was then replaced by McBay which resulted in a shift around with Alexander going to right back and McBay going wide left.
Steven made a run into the box and fed Jordan Greig who lashed the ball home to make it 4-1 to Bervie. With 15 minutes left Wardrop replaced Beedie and Bervie caused more problems for their opponents.
McBay’s running down the left was causing particular havoc to @ Bar’s FC defense.
