Stoney to the ‘four’ against Dee

Stonehaven ladies welcomed Dee ladies to Mineralwell park in their final home game of the 2014 season.

Stonehaven started the game well creating plenty chances but were unable to find a way past the Dee keeper.

Dee were looking threatening on the break looking for their striker with the high ball over the top.

Stoney took the lead 17 minutes in, Jamieson’s shot parried by the keeper but Stout was at the back post to finish. Both teams continued to have chances on goal but the first half ended 1-0.

Dee started the second half strong, pushing the Stoney defence back. Dee were then awarded a penalty. Their striker stepped up, but Paterson in the Stoney goal managed to get down low to her left hand side to keep the penalty out.

This spurred Stoney on, and they went up the other end to get a much needed second goal. Penny played a ball over the top for Ferries who squared the ball to Jamieson in the box who finished from close range.

On the 69th minute, Stoney made it 3, a free kick from Urquhart found Ferries who raced through to finish.

Stoney then put the game beyond any doubt. Urquhart with a free kick that went straight past everyone to find it’s way into the net.

Next game for Stonehaven is an away league fixture against Elgin City on October 12. The final game of the season.
