Fordoun see off Bervie

Despite the torrential rain and flooding the Fordoun pitch was in good shape for a Welfare League clash with Bervie, with Fordoun eventually winning 9-2.

Fordoun broke the deadlock in the 25th minute when Thomson and Murray linked up well on the left to set up McLaren who poked the ball home.

Eight minutes later it was 2-0. N Keddie crossed for A Stirling to head home. N Keddie was once again adding the creative spark for Galaxy and when he was fouled in the box in the 35th minute he got up to make it 3-0 from he spot.

With five minutes of the half remaining McLaren added a fourth for the home side but two minutes later Bervie got one back after a quick counter attack. Thomson restored the four goal advantage when he was in the right place to make it 5-1.

Fordoun changed their shape at half time but Bervie started the second half positively and got a second goal in the 48th minute. Murray then missed a great chance to extend the home side’s lead when he failed to finish after good work from Duncan and Thomson.

McLaren made it 6-2 with a great chip to complete his hat-trick before R Deans made it 7-2, finishing well after going one on one with the visiting keeper.

Anderson fired in the 8th with 15 minutes to play. Fordoun completed the scoring when an unfortunate Bervie defender diverted the ball past his own keeper.
