Girls score nine v Moray

Moray 6

Stonehaven Youth U13 Girls 9

With the league points guaranteed by Moray not having a full team Stonie girls loaned Moray a player and promptly won an exciting friendly.

Slick passing and skillful wingplay from the front four of Laing, Mitchell, Townsend and Grundy led to a number of early chances for Stonie with Anne Laing netting two early goals the second a beautiful Messi- type lob over the keeper.

Katy Townsend flicked in a couple with either foot and Eilidh Mitchell blasted in a couple for a 6-1 half time lead.

In the second half despite a late flurry from Moray, Stonie made numerous chances of which they took ones from Laing and Mitchell and a low rocket from Lisa Porter.

Magic Moment - Laing’s wonder goal or Townsend’s length of the pitch run and one-two with Laing.

Player of the match: Strong defending from Johnston and Beedie, but Anna McLeod was excellent in the first half.

U13 girls: Lisa Porter, Kirsten Johnston, Anna McLeod, Katy Townsend, Eilidh Mitchell, Emily Grundy, Anne Laing, Erin Beedie.
