on May 14, Stonehaven Girls U13 lost 10-2 at home to Buchan Girls. Laing went close early on before Buchan opened the scoring. Sustained pressure saw Katy Townsend slip a through ball to Ann Laing who rifled in an equaliser.

Buchan went 3-1 up before constant Stonie attacks resulted in Emily Grundy striking a rasping half volley into the net to make it 2-3.

Stonie tried but couldn’t force an equaliser and before half-time Buchan scored a couple to kill the game.

Player of the Match was Ann Laing who caused constant problems with Grundy prominent in the first half. Magic Moment was Grundy’s sweet shot.

In a friendly on May 15, Stonehaven Girls drew 5-5 with Broomhill. The younger developmental squad played in a storming end to end game. Supplemented by a couple of the senior team due to illness, the youngsters charged into a 3-1 half-time lead through a Lisa Porter hat-trick. Broomhill battled back to take a 5-3 lead before a stirring finale saw Lisa Porter and an Eilidh Mitchell belter secure a draw.

On Sunday the development side lost 7-0 to Westhill.

Stonie battled well against a side who have only lost twice in 28 games. Giving away an average of about two years a player to Westhill the youngsters contested well with Farquhar and Mitchell going close in the first half but Westhill’s firepower created a 6-0 lead. With Stonie’s older players on in the second half Westhill scored only one more goal.
