HOME PLAYERS TO THE FORE IN FOURSOME

FIFTY six couples turned up on Saturday to play in the J M Adamson Greensomes competition.

Despite the cold and windy conditions there were plenty of good scores. Top of the leaderboard were Michael Pyper and Steve Birss with a nett score of 57 off a handicap of 19.

On Sunday 36 couples took part in the Open Mixed Foursomes competition. Home players ended up taking all scratch and handicap prizes.

Results - scratch - Wilma Lawrence/Keith Taylor - 72, Catherine Duncan/Alistair Duncan - 72 (bih), Rose Riddell/Kevin Riddell - 72.

Handicap - Doreen Seery/Derek Seery - 59.8, Pat Spence/Sandy Duthie - 60.4, Irene Mearns/Duncan Ewing - 60.8.

Longest drive - big hitting Kevin Riddell, Nearest pin (15th) - Yvonne Reekie of Hexham.

Members are reminded that the draw sheet is up for the Midsummer Madness scramble on 25th June. This is a fun competition where 9 holes are made up from different tees and greens on the course. The highlight being from the fourteenth cliff top tee to the fifteenth green.
