After almost a week of damp and dreich conditions members were treated to some bright weather on Saturday. Typically the early morning golfers got the worst of the strong winds but it at least remained sunny all day. Putting remained a problem for everyone due to the spiked greens with three and sometimes four putting being the order of the day for many.
In the singles competition Ian Smith topped the leaderboard with an excellent 39 points. This was enough to pip Alan Wood and Kevin Reid by one point. Brian Hardstaff was a further point behind in fourth place.

In the doubles competition George Deans and Gordon McHardy were the clear leaders in the handicap section with a nett 57. Three strokes behind were John Neal & David Henderson, Stewart Allsop & Brian Lawson and Malcolm MacEwan & Sandy Walker.
In the scratch section Neil Irvine and Harry Roulston maintained their fine form with a one under par 65.
