Johnshaven travelled to Balgownie to face Old Aberdonians in the second round of the Aberdeen FC Trophy on October 15.
The home team were the better side in the first half and it was only down to some great saves from ‘keeper Jamieson, and the aid of the woodwork, that kept the score line at 0-0 at the half way point.
Scott Beedie did force the home goalkeeper into a great save just on the stroke of half time.
There were plenty of goals in the second half however. Old Aberdonians broke the deadlock on 65 minutes after some good play between their two strikers, and were 2-0 up just a minute later when the same two players were involved again to finish off an excellent move.
Johnshaven pulled a goal back after 75 minutes when a cross from Dalgarno was headed in by Ross Blease.
Old Aberdonians extended their lead to 3-1 after a counter attacking move.
In the 83rd minute a through ball from Dalgarno found Ross Blease who rounded the goalkeeper and stroked the ball home from a tight angle.
Johnshaven had chances to equalise firstly through Mennie whose header went narrowly wide, and Scott’s acrobatic volley was very well saved by the goalkeeper.
