1297 Stonehaven Air cadets win national competitions

1297 Stonehaven Sqn Air cadets won four of the six competitions entered at the recent Cadet Inter Service Skill at Arms Meeting held at Pirbright.

The Multiple Position Match which involves shooting from the prone, sitting and kneeling positions at targets 100 metres away was won by Cpl Nick Avis with a score of 99/100. The Adult shoot was won by Flight Sergeant Scott Ross.

The Stonehaven unit also won the Defence Match and the Advance Match which involved shooting targets from 300 metres away.

Four Stonehaven cadets Sgt Alistair Cunningham, Cpl Ewan Matheson, Cpl Nick Avis and Cdt Victoria Coultas were picked to represent the Air Cadets in the inter services final. The final was shot between the Sea Cadet Corps, Army Cadet Force and the Air cadets with the Air cadets winning.
