Stonehaven Running Club will hold their annual 5K Fun Run this Sunday, December 27 and there is still time for you to get involved.

Last week readers were invited to take part to burn off the Christmas excesses.

The route will have you running from the Promenade around Cowie, along the beachfront and back around Cowie. Entry forms will be available on the day and is only £2.50.

Denise Goodlad from Stonehaven Running Club told us last week: “We operate a handicap system with staggered starts based on estimated time bringing everyone racing toward the finish line at around the same time.”

Registration is at the Beach Pavillion on the promenade from 10.00 – 10.30AM.

Denise added: “We also have a gift swap at the prize giving; bring a gift to the value of around £2.50 and choose another to take home. “Eight prizes are up for grabs, including fastest overall, veteran and nearest estimate of time. The first runners will set off at 11AM.

“After the run, return to the Pavillion for the prize giving where you can and keep warm with free soup and cake. We look forward to welcoming you on the 27th.”
