With the cross-country season now in full swing, three teams of Banchory Stonehaven athletes headed to Cumbernauld last weekend to compete in the Scottish Athletics National Cross Country relays.
Within each team, there are three age groups, U13, U15 and U17, each athlete running 2.5k.
For the girls, Eva Sneddon, Claire Mc Garvey and Jennie Glass made the journey, and for the boys, there were two teams, Joe Wright, Charlie Beeson and Euan McMillan; Luke Graham, Cameron Baird and Daniel Rees.
The course was wet and hilly, perfect cross-country conditions – the girls were 58th out of 105 teams, and the boys 41st and 54th from 106 teams. It was a mammoth field, well done to all teams.
The club will be hosting the first of the Running Shop Winter Series Cross Country Events at Knoch burn Loch on Sunday, December 1, see www.therunningshop.uk.com for details of races and times.
