Bervie exact their revenge

The goal spurred Culter on and a long ball forward was cleared by Boyd for a throw. Culter opted for a long throw into the box with Smith scrambling it clear for a corner. From that, Anderson cleared to McLaughlin who found Webster and he drove out of the box drawing, a foul from Culter’s number six.

Bervie’s Webster foundBlacklaw whose effort went wide. Webster then found Anderson who fed McLaughlin whose effort went wide.

After a period of Bervie dominating, Culter came forward again with firstly Anderson then Davies getting in good challenges to see off the danger. However, Culter took the lead again whenDavies was caught in no man’s land, and on the stretch he diverted the ball into his own net.

Bervie placed Culter under pressure from the restart and a ball forward to McLaughlin saw the keeper put the ball out for a corner. A quick thrown found Blacklaw, he passed to McLaughlin who played it back to Anderson whose effort went wide.

The equaliser was not long in coming. Leisk’s goal kick was flicked on for Avis and then the ball broke to McLaughlin who scored his second of the match.

Webster was again imposing himself in midfield and was again fouled as he drove forward. Webster’s free kick hit the bar.

The home side grabbed the all-important winning goal when Webster picked the ball up around 25 yards out and fired in a fine effort .

This win for the home side takes them back to second place in the table with six games left to go, so promotion remains in Bervie’s hands.
