Nineteen girls from Stonehaven Gymnastics Club competed in the recent North of Scotland two-piece beginner and intermediate competition.

In the 8/9 years beginners group, Layla McLaughlin won the gold on vault and Kirstin Reith won the bronze on vault.

The team of Layla, Kirstin, Emily Winton and Ella McRobbie won the team silver. All of the girls were awarded gold certificates which moves them up to intermediate level.

n the 10/11 years beginners, the team of Natalie Davis, Isla Stevenson, Rosa Jackson and Jessica Morrow finished a very respectable eighth.

In the 12+ years beginners group, Annabel Reith won the bronze on floor and bronze overall. The team of Annabel, Holly Griffiths, Stacey Hay, Amy Duncan and Neve Murray won the team silver. Annabel and Stacey were awarded gold certificates moving them up to intermediate.

In the 10/11 years intermediate group, Glenn Masson finished a very high 9th.

In the 12+ years intermediate group, the team of Lauren Maitland, Leona Willox, Bethany Bruce, Sophie Owen and Catherine Wotherspoon finished in 6th place.

The club is very proud of the girls who all performed well in a high standard of competition against over 250 gymnasts from as far away as Shetland in the north to Angus in the south.
