Have your say

We want to thank all our sports contributors for all their hard work over the year and wish readers a happy new year.

To celebrate the end of 2014 the Mearns Leader and Kincardineshire Observer team have picked out their top three favourite sports pictures of the year to share with you.

What has been your sporting highlight of the year, locally or nationally?

On the back page, from August, is an image from Mackie Rugby team’s biggest fundraiser of the year, the rugby-thon.

Every age group was involved - from the P2 Micros to the over 35 Mammoths (middle age men mainly over the hill).

Pictured right - our favourite photo of the year came from the Drumtochty Highland games. It involves the Mount Blair tug of war team and shows emotions running high.

Below - also on our team’s list of favourite pictures from 2014 is the Stonehaven Half Marathon which had over 330 runners taking part raising funds for CLAN on the way in July. Next year the race will be celebrating its 30th year.
