Jenna Lyall from Inverbervie was thrilled to represent her country

Local shooting star Jenna Lyall is the pride of Scotland after her recent success.

The 23-year-old from Inverbervie was part of the national team who travelled to Ireland for the 2015 DTL Home Countries International Tournament.

And Jenna, a commercial assistant at Petrofac in Aberdeen, took top spot in the International Ladies High Gun Scotland at Bishops Mountain Shooting Club in County Kilkenny.

Her success in Ireland came just three weeks after winning the Ladies Non-International High Gun at the Scottish Championships at Auchterhouse Country Sports.

Jenna, who got started in shooting thanks to her dad and her Granda, said: “I’m thrilled to have represented my country and to win the title.

“It hasn’t quite sunk in yet. It was a huge surprise as it wasn’t expected. I learned a lot from the experience and it has given me the confidence and hunger to get into the team again next year.”

There was double joy for Jenna at the event as her partner Ben McKillop scooped took third place in the men’s seniors division.

Jenna would like to say a huge thanks to her sponsors, without whom she would not be able to compete and have gained her fantastic win.

They are DM Forklifts, ESK Offshore LTD, Fotheringham Property Developments, G F Bisset, Alexander Gauld Stonehaven, Plugzz ... “And of course my mum and dad for their help and support.”
