Lathallan do the double at sixth annual Sevens Tournament

Lathallan School in Johnshaven welcomed hundreds of people to its sixth annual Rugby 7s event tournament on Saturday.

Parents and friends of the players travelled from Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Tayside and Perth to spend the day cheering on the teams and enjoying the hospitality.

The P6/7 Rathbone’s Investment Management Trophy went to Robert Gordon College.

Mackie were runners up in the competition while Deeside came in third.

Segae Ugbe of Lathallan won player of the competion.

In the S1/S2 Howie Family Trophy it was Mackie who triumphed to take the title back to Stonehaven.

Deeside were runners-up while Lathallan came in third with Liam Dreelan winning player of the competition.

In the Under 16s Bain Family Trophy the hosts came away as champions with Lathallan beating runners-up Deeside and third placed Mackie to the title.

Euan Caldwell of Deeside and Drew Christie of Lathallan were joint players of the competition.

The Uner 18s tournament also finished in success for the hosts as Lathallan were victorious.

Runners-up were Montrose and third placed were Strathallen with Lewis Hill of Montrose winning player of the competition.

A family fun day with BBQ, beer tent, bouncy castle, face painting and family entertainment was enjoyed by all and Lathallan School would like to thank he Bill McLaren Foundation, Hearts and Balls and The Lathallan Foundation for bursaries.
