Local gymnastics show in Perth

Stonehaven Gymnastics Club recently took 20 gymnasts to the Scottish 2-piece beginner and intermediate Championships in Perth.

In the 9 years beginner group Ella McRobbie and Heather Lloyd were awarded merit certificates which takes them up to the intermediate section.

In the 10/11 years beginner group Amelie Palmer was placed third on vault, 10th overall and scored highly enough to gain a merit certificate and take her up to the intermediate section. Lucy Williams narrowly missed out on a merit but was placed 37th overall out of over 90 competitors in her first national competition. In the 12 plus beginner group Stacey Hay was placed 2nd on vault and 3rd overall. Sophie Owen was 5th on vault and 5th overall. Annabel Reith was 1st on floor and 2nd overall. The team of Stacey, Sophie, Annabel, Glenn Masson and Jessica Morrow were placed 1st out of 16 teams and more than 70 competitors. The whole team were awarded merit certificates, taking them into the intermediate section. Also in this section the team of Amy Duncan, Katie Bennett, Rosa Jackson, Isla Stevenson and Natalie Davies all competed very well and were placed 9th.

In the 10/11 years intermediate group Kirstin Reith was placed 1st on vaut and 2nd overall. The team of Kirstin, Iona McArdle and Layla McLaughlin were placed 6th out of 14 teams. Kirstin also received a merit certificate.

In the 12 plus years intermediate group Catherine Wotherspoon was 1st on floor and 1st overall. Bethany Bruce was 1st on vault and 4th overall. Sasha Smith was 13th overall.
