Stonehaven’s good run in the Bowls Scotland Top Ten tournament came to an end in the final at Rothienorman BC last Sunday.

In a closely contested game which went down to the last bowl Tarves BC came out on top by 5 points to 3.

This season’s Mearns League was wrapped up by Newtonhill who should be congratulated on their consistency during the season and are worthy title holders. St.Cyrus finished 4 pts behind and are runners up.

This year’s Kilwhang Pairs competition was won by Alex McAllister and Olive Donald who got the better of Liz Hunt and Abe Binnie in last Friday’s final.

The Senior Fours of Joe Aitken/Bob Harrison/Steve Gellatly and Jim Roddie set off for Ayr with the Club member’s good wishes to contend the Bowls Scotland rink competition this week.

The Senior Section held their annual triples tournament on Monday and had a good turnout of competitors.

The eventual winners were Dave Anderson/Harry Gatt and John Shinnie who defeated Bill Davie/Ernie Pratt and Steve Bruce by 7 shots to 6 after Dave Anderson with game against him drove the jack through to take the triples title.
