The sixth game in the Kincardine & Mearns Bowling League took place last week against Hope Paton.
The home team of Ernie Auld, Frank Laing, Fiona Dundas and Roy Mowatt managed to win by a score of 18-6. The away team of Fred Innes, Margaret Innes, Alan Robbie and Bill Webster unfortunately just came up short losing by 25 -23, but overall over both games won by 41-31 to pick up the extra point
In the second round of the Renee Taylor Competition, the all ladies rink of Margaret Innes, Fiona Anderson, Jean Stephen and Tracy Laing had a very competitive match at home against Marykirk. It was definitely a match of two halves, with Johnshaven pulling out an initial lead of 9-3, only for Marykirk to get the hang of the green, and run out winners by 18-10
The Friday night hat nights, and traditional mars bar, have been won over the last 2 weeks by Ernie Auld, Jim McCallum and Rab McKerron. Hat nights continue each Friday at 7pm, to which all bowlers can come along.
The Club had their Rinks Competition for the Anderson Shield at the weekend. The final was contested between the teams of Alan Robbie, Mary Brebner, Fiona Anderson and Fred Innes against Frank Laing, Roy Mowatt, Shirley McKerron and Jean Stephen. Alan’s team scored heavier over the 11 end final, and were worthy winners by 13-4.
