This years Stonehaven Bike Ride has raised more than £3000 for a local charity.
Prior to the start of this year’s event in aid of North East Sensory Services, Neil Skene Fundraising Co-ordinator with the charity asked all the cyclists assembled for the event to join him in a minutes silence to remember Mary Lindsay, the founder of the event who sadly passed away on August 17.
Neil told the gathering that he had no doubt that Mary was looking down on them and that was why this year’s start was blessed with glorious sunshine.
This year saw 132 participants take on the challenge of riding either 25 or 11 miles and already between them they have raised over £3,225 with more pledged.
NESS provides services to anyone affected by a sight or hearing loss in one joint Sensory Service and all money raised from such events stays here in the North East.
