There was a good turnout for Sunday’s mixed foursomes Ruby Stephens Trophy.
Sandwiched between the early morning rain and the late afternoon storm the bulk of the field enjoyed relatively good conditions to play in.
The winning pairing were Davie Cruickshank and Irene Mearns with a score of 59, two shots better than the husband and wife pairing of Joe and Rose Riddell.

Last Friday, the inaugural Bill Adams memorial foursomes trophy took place at the golf club, the winning pair of John Starr’s and Scott Crabbe managed victory thanks to a better inward half from Grant Robb and Connor Douglas both scoring 62s.
Club captain Terry Middleton and his partner, Alex Geddes, were third with a score of 65.
This Saturday will be one of the busiest for a while at the club with 140 players taking part in the gents 18-hole open which is now fully booked. Players representing clubs from all over Scotland will start at 7.30 am with the last group teeing off at 1.30 pm.
