On an evening when high score differences seemed to be the norm rink 4 was the setting for Inverbervie and Newtonhill to lock horns in the latest round of the Mearns League.

The game was played in great spirit by all and the final score of 24 – 6 certainly did not reflect the true standard of play by both teams. The Inverbervie team were very unlucky especially with their weighted shots which were always on target but somehow didn’t quite get the result hoped for.

The Newtonhill team worked well together at both front and back ends playing steadily and consistently throughout the game managing to win through for maximum points.

Stoney#1 are still holding on to the no#1 spot after a win against Johnshaven but there are a few chasing teams right behind them!! The results are as follows: Portlethen IBC 15-14 Portlethen, St Cyrus 28-4 Laurencekirk, Stonehaven BC #1 23-5 Johnshaven, Inverbervie 6-24 Newtonhill, Stonehaven BC #2 17-9 Fettercairn, Auchenblae 4-17 Drumlithie.

Fixtures to be played December 15; Portlethen v Laurencekirk, Portlethen IBC v Johnshaven, St Cyrus v Fettercairn, Stonehaven BC #1 v Drumlithie, Auchenblae v Newtonhill, Stonehaven Bc #2 v Invervbervie.
