Johnshaven Athletic 3

Old Aberdonians 3

Johnshaven faced a team who last season were in the Premier Division, and came from behind to earn a draw.

In the second minute Old Aberdonians went down the left then crossed the ball into their unmarked striker who scored with a header to put them into the lead.

In the 10th minute a chip over the top beat the offside trap and the Old Aberdonians striker increased their lead to 2-0.

Johnshaven got a goal back in 14 minutes. Harrison played the ball through to Scott Beedie who rounded the keeper but his shot hit the post. The ball rebounded back to Beedie and he squared for Steven Smith to score past a defender on the line.

the rush of goals continued in the 22nd minute when the Old Aberdonians winger cut in before shooting from the edge of the box. MacLean got a touch but it was not enough to prevent the goal.

on the half hour, Steven Smith latched onto a short pass then skinned his man before shooting into the top corner for his second goal of the game.

A remarkable first half was complete in the 41st minute. A Smith corner found James Mennie who headed home to make it 3-3.

MacLean saved a high cross under his bar in 50 minutes.

in 66 minutes a Dundas corner was headed as far as Ross Blease who was just too high with a scissors kick.

in 80 minutes Johnshaven went on the attack and Slavin found Beedie who went on a run before shooting straight at the keeper.
