Tie for top in final singles of year

There was a healthy turnout of 22 singles and 15 pairings for the last Saturday competition of 2011. In the singles competition Steve McGhie and John Findlay topped the leaderboard with 40 points. This gave them a one point lead over Frank Urquhart with Mike Rendall and Jim Lonie a further point behind.

In the doubles section there was a three way tie at the top in the scratch section with Neil Irvine & Harry Roulston, Colin Arthur & Alan Officer and Kenny Duncan & Ian Wood all returning a sore of 64. In the handicap section clear winners were John Starrs & Ian Hastie with an excellent nett 56. They were one stroke clear of Alister Barnett & Tom Simpson and Kenny Duncan & Ian Wood.

Juniors are reminded that their junior prizegiving will be held this Sunday in the clubhouse at 2pm. Former Open champion Paul Lawrie will be there to present the trophies. Everyone is invited to attend.
