The top five teams in the Mearns Pool League all won on Monday to widen the gap between themselves and the rest of the league.

Leaders Redhall led the way with a big win at home to Drumlithie.

Scots Corner won away to Cutty Sark, Anchor Chiefs had a big win at home to Western and Sally were too strong at home to the Anchor Kings.

In the other match of the night, Harbour won away to the Crown.

Results: Cutty Sark 4 Scots Corner 8; Crown 4 Harbour 8; Sally 8 Anchor Kings 4; Redhall 10 Drumlithie 2; Anchor Chiefs 11 Western 1.

Unbeaten Redhall top the league with 21 points, followed by Scots Corner on 18 and the Chiefs and Sally on 17.

Harbour are on 13, Crown on nine and Royal and Cutty Sark on eight.

The Kings are on six points with Western on two and Drumlithie on one.

In the Stonehaven and District Pool League on Monday, Hook Elite went back into second with a win away to Newton B.

Newton A closed to within two points of Legion by beating them 7-5 and in the clash of the league’s bottom two sides, Troupers B edged out Quoiters.

Troupers A top the league with 21 points, five clear of Hook Elite.
