Under-strength Johnshaven well beaten by Ferryhill

Johnshaven travelled to Hazlehead on Saturday with only 13 players available for selection including the manager and ended up well beaten.

In the first minute a good through ball by Ferryhill saw Johnshaven keeper MacLean make a great save.

A minute later a looping shot from Bruce went straight to the Ferryhill keeper.

In the third minute Johnshaven were forced to make their first substitution when Stephen Stephen replaced the injured Ryan Ritchie.

A couple of minutes later Scott Beedie made a surging run and played a one-two with Leon Dundas, but his final shot went over.

In the 12th minute a Johnshaven corner was headed back to Scott Beedie and his header was well saved by the Ferryhill keeper.

Ferryhill took the lead in 17 minutes with a 20 yard shot.

In the 23rd minute a Ferryhill free-kick was converted on the volley to increase their lead to 2-0.

A couple of minutes later shots from Beedie and D. Smith were blocked Leon Dundas had a shot saved by the Ferryhill keeper.

On the half-hour mark a Ferryhill throw-in was poorly defended and a shot from inside the box beat the keeper.

A minute later a cross from Scott Beedie found Ross Blease but his shot went over the bar.

An overhead kick by D. Smith went just over the bar, then a shot from Beedie was well saved.

Just on half-time, Bruce controlled a crossfield pass and his shot was also well saved.

In the 56th minute a long range shot from Dalgarno was well saved.

A couple of minutes later Johnshaven a low drive from S. Smith was held well by the keeper.

Johnshaven got a goal back in the 70th minute. A long kick out by keeper MacLean found Robert Milne who beat the Ferryhill defence and with a great finish made the score 3-1.

A few minutes later a cross from Scott was headed wide by Leon Dundas.

In the 78th minute Johnshaven were reduced to 10 men when they had a player sent off for a second booking.

In the 87th minute Dalgarno had a great chance to score but a Ferryhill defender made a great block.

On full-time Ferryhill scored with a header from a corner to make the score 4-1.

In stoppage-time Ferryhill hit Johnshaven on the break and added a fifth.
