The 42nd annual Stonehaven Art Club Exhibition opened in the Stonehaven’s Upper Town Hall last week with a private viewing on Friday, July 29.

The private viewing was open to members and guests before the show was open to the public on Saturday, July 30.

There were 37 artists participating in this year’s show with 106 framed paintings and 170 unframed for sale.

During the opening night several awards were presented to some of the artists.

The awards were presented to the artists and were sponsored by local businesses and groups.

Stonehaven Art Club president John Hamilton was also present to present some of the awards.

The Rose Bowl Award to Fiona Wadsworth for Craigeven Bay.

The Charles McHardy Award went to Anne McMaster for the Kelpies.

The Gallery at 55 Award went to Lorna Crawford for Leaf Collage.

I Mac Frames Award went to Gareth Shepherd for Sailing on Roses.

The Aly Bali Award was presented to Margaret Ruddiman for Standing Stones at Callanish.

The exhibition continues until Sunday, August 7.

It is open daily from 10am until 5pm and admission is free.

Stonehaven Art Club formed in 1974 and have been hosting annual exhibitions ever since.

They meet on the second Wednesday of April, May, June, September, October and November in the Upper Town Hall.
