Award-winning local artist Michael Samson and Stonehaven Rotary club are putting on a charity painting event next month.
The event, in aid of Alzheimer’s Research, will take place on Saturday, May 3, at Macphies of Glenbervie.
At the event, Michael will produce an original painting that will auctioned off exclusively for the audience and will also take questions while he works.
Michael told the Leader and Observer : “I’ll be painting a new composition of Dunnottar Castle on the night in front of the audience which is being auctioned off for our charity by the owner of Taylors Auction House and there will also be a selection of new drawings, paintings and prints available for sale.”
Michael studied at Dundee and Aberdeen and graduated with a masters degree in fine art.
Over the past 15 years he has won a number of awards and participated in group and solo exhibitions.
His work is held in private and public collections throughout the UK, including the Royal Scottish Academy of Art.
His paintings record the passing of time and season and its effects on the landscape.
A selection of his paintings and drawings will be on sale throughout the evening.
Tickets are available by contacting Gallery at Fifty Five in Stonehaven on Allardice Street. Tickets are priced at £15 with doors open at 6pm and the event starting at 7.
