The future of Portlethen Gala has been put up in the air after a local charity which organised the event for four years decided to pull out.
Befriend a Child - which provides a one to one befriending service to vulnerable and underprivileged local children - resurrected the gala in 2010 after an absence of several years.
The event has grown steadily ever since, with the 2013 Gala proving the most successful yet.
Hundreds of visitors enjoyed the entertainment, variety of stalls, fairground rides and lots more.
A series of other commitments in 2014 - including the opening of its first ever charity shop and preparations for a string of events to mark the organisation’s 40th anniversary in 2015 - mean that Befriend a Child has taken the difficult decision to step away from the event.
Befriend a Child community fundraiser Andrew Reid said: “It really does offer a great opportunity to a group or charity to raise awareness, and we would happily share our experiences and contacts.”
The charity have offered help and advice to any local groups or individuals who would be willing to take on the event.
