The 28th Stonehaven Folk Festival was music to the town’s ears last week with four days packed with musical entertainment.

Over 50 acts played at the festival, including Blazin’ Fiddles, Artie Trezise, Dallahan, Scott Wood Band and more.

As well as live concerts, there was musical workshops occurring throughout the town between July 7-10.

And three women dressed as nuns won the World Paper ‘n’ Comb championships.

The popular competition’s theme this year was the Sound of Music.

Also returning this year was the Aqua Ceilidh.

Organiser Charlie West said: “It has been a very good year in spite for the drizzle.

“Highlights for me included the marquee in the square which was very full every day.

“The Paper ‘n’ Comb competition was - as ever - very, very popular. The theme was the Sound of Music so there were many nuns and far too many lederhosen.”
