Woodend Barn is one of North East Scotland’s leading performing and visual art spaces hosting the finest musicians, dancers, curators and theatre companies from across the UK and beyond.
Woodend Arts has also started nurturing talent and encouraging the creation of new work and in the future, we envisage work made here on Deeside touring the country. It is a great testament to the founding group to see the venue expand from housing a few concerts and workshops a year, into the nationally respected art centre for Deeside that it has become, while still always putting local people at the forefront of its planning.
This is no easy task in the current climate. Funding is tight and families have less disposable income to play with. That is why in this, the Barn’s 20th year, we are hosting several fundraising events for all the community, researching ways to increase our own earned income and using new technologies, such as crowdfunding, to support exciting new projects.
We are also seeking new board members to support our strategic planning and to help build a sustainable future for the organization.
Woodend Arts Limited, the not-for-profit company which runs the Woodend Barn, is seeking new directors to serve on the Board. The present Chair, Secretary, Treasurer all plan to hand over their roles during the next two years, presenting opportunities for new people joining. Various skills and experience would be welcomed - if you enjoy teamwork, have a passion for the arts and/or relevant skills/experience, please contact Mark Hope at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01330 825274.
