Calling all green-fingered folk living in Stonehaven and District...

Local gardeners are being urged to get themselves ready once again to enter this year’s Stonehaven & District Gardens Competition.

This annual event, organized by the Stonehaven & District Gardening Club, is supported by the Mearns Leader and Kirktown Garden Centre.

The event is open to all local residents and provides a great opportunity to get involved in adding a splash of colour to your home and at the same time improving the overall appearance of the local Stonehaven area.

John Shinnie, chairman of the Gardening Club, is keen to encourage everyone to get involved in this community event.

This year’s competition has been tailored to suit all levels of gardeners so you don’t need to be a budding Carole Baxter or Jim McColl to take part.

You can enter your own garden/display or a neighbour’s or friend’s garden/display.

There are three categories: small front/back garden, large front/back garden and containers/hanging baskets.

And yes, everyone can take part.

Just fill in the entry coupon printed on page 11 and join in the fun and the chance to win some of the many prizes and trophies available.
