MARIAN BRADFIELD will be playing at the Stonehaven Folk Club on Friday evening.

This week Stonehaven Folk Club finally welcomes back someone who has been described as one of Ireland’s hidden musical treasures.

Marian Bradfield is a terrific singer and was last at the club in 2008 and the club is delighted to have her back once more. Marian has released three solo albums and one live album.

Her first solo album entitled “ Marian “ was released in 1993 to critical praise from the media and Hot Press saying- “ She pours her heart and rich palette of emotions…over a debut album of thirteen self-penned tracks of the quality that most major artists would willingly sacrifice their lawyers for”

Her second solo album “Tonight is Just for Us “ released in October 1995 was nominated for one of Ireland’s prestigious I R M A awards. Again critics were unanimous in their praise saying “Her songs deftly reveal the underlying tragedies and ironies of everyday life. Within the daily hopes and fears of us all Marian traces the magic of our dreams and the pain of the often hidden struggle to reveal them.”

Her third solo album “The Emperors Field “ produced by Pat Donne was released in September ‘97 - again to critical acclaim not only by the media but to her Irish and ever increasing U.S. and European fans as well.

She has appeared Live at home and abroad with many of the great names of Irish music including Altan, Maire Brennan, The Furey’s, Mary Black, Kieran Goss, Donal Lunny, and The Chieftains to name a few! Her fourth album, “Marian Bradfield Live” recorded on tour in Holland and launched in May 2004 is described by one radio DJ as “an album that draws you into the very powerful intimate world of her live performance and leaves you breathless”.
