Madness hit the right notes for 8,000 music fans in Montrose, with a carnival atmosphere at the concert on the town’s East Links.
Sunglasses, inflatable saxophones and fez and fedora hats were the fashion statements of choice as the original six members of the band took to the stage for the only Scottish gig in their 20-venue UK Grandslam Madness tour.
Led by shade-wearing front man Suggs, and accompanied by extra saxophone backing, the group belted out hit after well-known hit, as well as new material, for an audience that was clearly there to have fun.
Brian Smith was on hand to capture the action and his pictures are featured in our slideshow, created for your viewing pleasure by Johnston Press Scotland communities hub deputy editor Juli Currie. Enjoy!
