Inverbervie woman, Andrea Watt (44) is embarking on a marathon challenge for Alzheimer Scotland as she prepares to run the Edinburgh Marathon on May 29.
Community Fundraiser for Alzheimer Scotland, Aberdeen and Tayside, Development manager for Lathallan School and mum to two daughters, Andrea has been training since November for the marathon. She said: “I’m very nervous about the marathon but hoping the crowds will get me round. I’ve enjoyed the training and running from Stonehaven to Inverbervie a few times. I ran the London Marathon back in 1997 but I was 25 then so this has been a bigger challenge. Raising funds for Alzheimer Scotland is very important to me as I’ve seen at first hand the difference this charity makes to people living well with dementia and helping them enjoy their lives. My mum died in 2012 so I’m challenging myself in her memory.”
