Inspired by the John Lewis Christmas advert, What’s on Inverbervie is to run a secret santa for the Royal Burgh this year.
The community page is asking locals to get in touch to nominate a resident to receive a secret santa gift.
Last year What’s on Bervie gave away four hampers but is looking to run the secret santa on a bigger scale this year.
Caroll Evans from What’s on Bervie said: “The Secret Santa idea was on Social media where a lady in England had received 200 gifts to donate to older residents, the John Lewis Christmas advert has highlighted loneliness at Christmas and got everyone talking about it, which is great.
“I think we are very lucky in Bervie to have a fantastic community spirit, a great online network where ideas and suggestions are easy to access and share and generous people and groups who are keen to be involved and take part in ‘whatever is going on in The Royal Burgh’.
“The Secret Santa will run until Sunday December 20 and all gifts and hampers will be delivered during Christmas week, donations no matter how big or small are gratefully received and nominations in writing for anyone you think would appreciate a gift this Christmas.”
To nominate a resident please submit in writing to 50 Church St, Bervie or to firstname.lastname@example.org. Donations can also be made there or collected.
