To coincide with the North-East Open Studios week, SHARK, as it has done for the last three years, will be running café days in the Village Hall, Johnshaven on Saturday, 15th and Saturday, 22nd September when soup, teas and coffees will be served between 11 am and 4 pm.
It is not known as yet which, if any, organisation is willing to take on the catering arrangements for the two Sundays.
There is still time to purchase tickets for tomorrow, (Saturday’s) Wee Stories production in the Village Hall at 7.30 pm of “A Dream on Midsummer’s Night”, an entertaining, fast-moving and delightfully inventive retelling of Shakespear’s famous fairy tale and suitable for anyone over 10 years of age.

Johnshaven Bowling Club’s annual open 7 ends competition will be held at Wairds Park on Sunday, September 16 commencing at 12 noon. Entry fee is £5 which includes soup, sandwiches, tea and cakes throughout the day. Afternoon teas will be available to non players and spectators.
