This year at Carronhill School in Stonehaven we are determined to raise funds for a new bus. Our current bus will soon be 7 years old and is costing more every year for its upkeep and repair.

We have set ourselves the ambitious objective of raising £35,000 ASAP to replace our bus with a great new vehicle with electric wheelchair access. This is quite an ambitious undertaking for a school with 35 pupils.

The Friends of Carronhill is the fundraising arm of the school and is mostly made up of parents. We are a dedicated bunch and really enjoy all the activities we arrange for school to raise much needed cash. We work closely as a group with the teachers and pupils. Our recent Christmas Fayre raised £2,300.

We are so thrilled to have received an anonymous donation through our School Minister of £1000 towards the Bus Fund. We would like to say a big thank you for such amazing generosity. Also this Christmas, the Smith family from Stonehaven gave up exchanging Christmas presents and cards with family and friends and instead asked for donations to our Bus Fund using our newly formed Just Giving site We really wanted to thank them for this too. Their amazing generosity has raised about £1300. Another Carronhill family organised a New Year ceilidh raising £450.

We want to thank everyone for all their donations and the wider Stonehaven community for all their support to the school.
